Background and Contents

China is the biggest steel producing and consuming country in the world and has the world's largest steel circulation market. Its steel distribution and logistics industry however, remains on a relatively lower level compared with developed countries. With the more and more severe competition, the steel community has to seek for higher efficiency and profitability from the steel product distribution and logistics process and look for ways to add value to the products via better customer services. It is a historical time for China to develop its modern steel distribution and logistics industry.

After the entry into WTO, the Chinese government is open for foreign investment in the steel distribution and logistics sector. Quite a few foreign companies have already stepped into this market and many others are following. The conference is a great opportunity for national and international steel producers, traders, consumers and logistics companies to discuss the key issues related to the development of steel distribution and logistics and look for investment and cooperation in this sector.
