Background
and Contents
In 2004, the Chinese
steel output was up to 270 million tons with the growth rate exceeding
20% once again and the steel price keeping at a high level. Meanwhile,
the global steel output topped one billion tons with the substantial
increasing volume of international steel trade, frequent record
high of price index and amazing rise of raw materials prices.
The restructuring of steel enterprises surged again.
What about 2005? Will
it be another good year for the steel mills and traders? Is the
price rise and consumption growth sustainable? How will the macro-economic
control of China's government and global economic development
affect the steel demand, price, investment, import, export, etc?
The 4th International Steel Market and Trade Conference organized
by CISA and MC-CCPIT from March 8-11, 2005 will review the highlights
of 2004 and focus on analyzing the possible developments of national,
regional and global steel market and trade in 2005 and the future.
Also the new developments of e-commerce in steel trade will be
discussed.
The conference will
be held in conjunction with the MetalsFair 2005, which will take
place during March 8-11 in Guangzhou. The fair is hosted by China
Iron and Steel Association and China Non-ferrous Metals Industry
Association and covers almost the whole areas of the metals industries,
such as steel, non-ferrous metals, metalworking, hardware, steel
construction, stainless steel, metal recycling, foundry, forging,
industrial furnace, heat treatment, ferroalloy and refractory
industry. Details about the fair can be consulted at www.metalsfair.com.
